abloid City is the brainchild of Rick Dembow, a well known New York City based photojournalist in the news media. With 16 years of combined news experience working for the New York Daily News and the New York Post, he is truly a photographerąs photographer. Dembow understands how much you put into getting those shots, whether you had to stand outside in the snow for 8 hours, or sweat it for 8 hours on a hot humid August day. He understands the abuse you take to get those great shots, from the police, security, other photographers, and angry residents of a neighborhood that you are not welcome in. After selling images for many years Dembow came to know the short comings of giving work to agencies to sell. Trust being a key issue.
"I have never met a photographer who hasn't questioned whether or not the
agency selling their images, is screwing them out of picture sales."
Can you blame them? After all, try calling most agencies and ask them where they sold your images. Most agencies donąt even list the end user on your check invoice. Many agencies will sell your images to anyone for any price.
"I've even seen the biggest names in celebrity
photography receiving $12.50 or less, for web use fees!"

abloid City will not sell your images for $12.50. No way! How many times have you gotten a call from an agency saying, "We need those pictures of yours that appeared in the paper or magazine today. Can you send us all that you have right away?" You kill yourself to get to a computer, locate all the images and e-mail or transmit them. Then you never hear from them again, until you call a week later and are told, "We really loved your images, but the client changed their minds" That won't happen at Tabloid City.
When the client downloads your image, it's a sale No kill fees no backing out!
